The name of your Folio smart folder has two important aspects:
1. Its location, nested under the Folio folder in your email.
2. It is used as the name of the label in your email.
If you change the location or name of the folder in your email, this may cause the connection between the Folio folder and the folder in your email to break.
The folder must remain nested directly under the Folio folder in order to be recognized as a smart folder. Do not nest it under another subfolder of the main Folio folder.
However, you can change the name of a Smart Folder, in order to change the label.
Please do so as follows:
Folio web app
- Go to your Folio web page: amitree.com/folio
- Click on the three-dot menu to the right of the smart folder you want to update
- Click on Edit Smart Folder
- Change the smart folder’s name
- Save your changes
Folio Gmail sidebar
Install the Folio Chrome Extension.
- Select your Smart Folder
- Click on the three-dot menu on the top-right of the right-hand sidebar
- Click on Edit Smart Folder
- Change the smart folder’s name
- Save your changes
Changing the name updates the smart folder name displayed in the folder label in your email.
If you changed a Folder's name or location directly in your email, or have other reason to believe the connection between Folio and your label has been broken, don't worry! Contact support@amitree.com and we will likely be able to restore the folder.
