The Sender Sidebar shows you a summary of all the emails, documents, files, and events you exchange with people you email with. You’ll see this variant of the sidebar when you’re looking at an email that’s not part of a Smart Folder.
Turn on or off
The Sender Sidebar is always open on non-Smart Folder emails by default. To temporarily hide the sidebar, click the Folio icon in the Gmail sidebar options, and you won’t see the Sender Sidebar until you click on the icon again.
Note: Reloading Gmail or starting a new session can reset this setting.
You can turn off the functionality completely by visiting www.amitree.com/folio and logging into your account.
- Go to Settings: https://www.amitree.com/folio/settings
- Under “Sender sidebar”, click on the button next to “See contextual information about the people emailing you”, so the button turns gray
- You will see a confirmation message at the top of the page
Don't like how the extension works?
If Folio conflicts with other extensions or advanced Gmail features you use, you can always disable it by removing the extension. Just make sure to keep your account. If you do remove the extension from your browser, you can continue to manage your Smart Folders and timelines from our website.
