When you create a transaction, Folio requires a property address to create an associated Smart Folder and timeline. The Smart Folder's name defaults to the property address. You can change the address or rename the folder after it has been created.
How to rename a transaction folder
You can change the displayed name of your transaction from the web app or the Folio Gmail sidebar.
Changing the display name updates the Smart Folder name and the name displayed on your Folio homepage.
Folio web app
- Go to your Folio homepage: https://www.amitree.com/folio
- Click on the three-dot menu to the right of the transaction you want to rename
- Click on “Edit Smart Folder”
- At the bottom of the folder pop-up, click into the "Smart Folder Name" field and input the new folder name
- Click “Update Smart Folder”
Folio Gmail sidebar
Install the Chrome extension for Gmail.
- Click into your transaction’s Folio Smart Folder
- Click on the three-dot menu on the top-right of the right-hand sidebar
- Click on “Edit Smart Folder”
- At the bottom of the folder pop-up, click into the "Smart Folder Name" field and input the new folder name
- Click “Update Smart Folder”
If you changed a folder's name by editing the Gmail label, or have other reason to believe the connection between Folio and your Gmail label has been broken, don't worry! Contact support@amitree.com and we will likely be able to restore the folder.
