When you create a transaction, Folio requires a property address to create an associated smart folder and timeline. The smart folder's name defaults to the property address. You can change address or rename the folder after it has been created.

Although you cannot create a transaction with just a client's name, once you create a property transaction you can rename the relevant folders. Please note that transaction folders are separate from Client Smart Folders.

How to rename a transaction folder

You can change the displayed name of your transaction from the web app or the Folio Gmail sidebar.

Changing the display name updates the smart folder name and the name displayed on your Folio home page.

Folio web app

  • Go to your Folio web page, amitree.com/folio

  • Click on the three-dot menu to the right of the transaction you want to rename.

  • Click on Edit Transaction

  • Change the top display name field

  • Click Save

  • Refresh the page

Folio Gmail sidebar

  • Select your transaction

  • Click on the three-dot menu on the top-right of the right-hand sidebar

  • Click on Edit

  • Change the top display name field

  • Click Save

  • Refresh Gmail
